Conquering

You stealthily sneaked in through orchards with sparks and flames here and there,
you sprinkled trees once green in meadows with golden strokes so they would flare.
You slowly creeped in through the branches, a shiver of the trembling leaves,
to drive the wings away to south, over the horizon which grieves.
Spread in the silken grass you quivered, but roses didn't seem to care
and their more enchanting blossoms, defiantly scented the air
and stealing from your crazy fire a spark they took away your madness
and changed in burning bright idea the sad decay silent and mindless,
while beside them, in the garden, to make them blush in shame and faint,
the rainbow fell and all its colours dissolved like an unruly paint,
tinted the chrysanths' large, dark bushes, their stems embraced to keep the warmth.
Unfolded like a rug in valleys, you know I called for you thenceforth,
I called you with smooth drops of rain and with the smell of the wet earth,
with leaves which travel for a while on wings of wind toward their death,
with early evenings when the woods melt on the horizon in flames,
soaked in the scarlet of the sky when to that colour their soul aims.
The fire spread over the sky mirrored by the decaying scape,
the bloody dusk is pierced by strips of light like velvet in a drape,
a distant echo of the longing ingrained in me by other fall.
You sneaked in and you filled me gently with a deep yearning meant for all
the tenderness of wind through tresses, on my soft skin - the moist of rain,
the dew of heart gathered in poems... for learning it might be in vain,
You gave me wings drawing a furrow deep in my soul to match the sky,
and you alighted flames in there unleashing passions to live by.
With stealth you flooded me with whispers and overtook my everything,
and I'm afraid again: without you hugs will not count more than a fling,
love will grow faint without devotion and kisses will not happen ever;
I fear my temple and my soul will be your nest from now forever
and you will leave and you will steal all that I am and all my worlds
and I'll remain hollow, deserted of flames, of passion, with no words...
But filling me your fire tells me that it will stay with me a while
and it will carry me through seasons, holding my hand for any trial
and warming winters in my soul, and spreading sparks across my mind,
for all my autumns to hold on and be my rustling nest in kind.
